EXCEPTIONAL NEWBORN CARE FOR YOUR NEW BUNDLE OF JOY
At Pediatric Care of Four Corners, we understand that choosing a pediatrician for your newborn care is an important decision and can be overwhelming for new parents. Your baby is precious and you want the best possible care for them. Since most hospitals require a scheduled appointment with a pediatrician to allow you to leave the hospital after birth, it’s best to have your pediatrician chosen before you going into the hospital to avoid rushed, impromptu decisions.
REGULAR CHECKUPS FOR NEWBORN CARE
Even the healthiest of babies require regular newborn care. Weight is recorded, head circumference is measured, belly button healing is monitored, critical vaccinations are administered, and general visual checks are given to rule out any visible conditions. Your physician will ask questions about your labor and delivery, especially regarding complications, and how the baby eats and sleeps. She will address any concerns you have regarding newborn care as a new parent including those related to a lack of appetite, crying, sleeping, and diaper rashes.
CHOOSING WELL FOR YOUR NEWBORN’S CARE
When choosing a pediatrician for newborn care, make sure to research thoroughly. Dr. E is more than happy to meet with you beforehand and provide references to help you decide if she is the right person to take care of your baby. Before making your final decision, contact your health insurance company to make sure your preferred physician is covered.
