Well-Care Visits

Children School-age Physicals

Throughout their first several years, children experience drastic and rapid physical and mental growth. Throughout those first years, overall health and wellness is dependent not only upon medical care when your child is sick—preventative care and an active schedule of well-care visits are just as important.

Child wellness appointments allow our knowledgable pediatricians and staff to assess your child’s necessary development, monitor any areas of concern, and give you the chance to voice your questions and concerns about your child. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following schedule for routine well-care visits for all children:

  • 3-to-5 days
  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months
  • 30 months
  • 3 years
  • 4+ years—once every year thereafter for an annual health supervision visit that includes a physical exam as well as a developmental, behavioral, and learning assessment.

For children age 3 and older, well-care visits typically include a full physical examination in addition to a developmental and learning evaluation. We recommend making a list of any and all questions and concerns before you bring your child in for a doctor wellness checkup. This will help you focus on your immediate issues and ensure that you get all the information you need from our educated pediatricians and staff.
